  “'Be holy as I am holy,' says the Lord. As Christians we are all called to holiness because we are His children.
Every Christian
should be a saint. Indeed, for a Christian to live in a state of sin is a monstrous contradiction”.

If we want to grow in the love of Jesus
In every Catholic home, even the poorest, you can find a Rosary.
In moments of joy or sadness, when believers turn to God, they pray the Rosary...
In Lourdes, the Immaculate prayed on her Rosary beads and encouraged Bernadette to recite it with her.
If we want to grow in the love of Jesus, we must meditate the mysteries of the Rosary with Mary,
constantly repeating and whispering the Ave Maria.
Nobody in the world, even among the angels, has loved and loves the Lord Jesus as much as the Mother of God.  --Saint Maximilian Kolbe

What is the Respect Life Program?
NEW materials are produced each year to help Catholics understand, value, and become engaged with supporting the dignity of the human person, and therefore the gift of every person's life. Materials are developed for use in parishes, schools, and faith-based ministries, but are also suitable for individual use. The program begins anew each October
(Respect Life Month) and continues through the following September.

      Because of prayers during the campaign 2016 that just ended, 872 babies were spared from abortion
when their mothers chose life at the last possible moment.
They were scheduled to be aborted ... but they are alive today --
and often it was the sight of faithful people praying outside the abortion center that made all the difference in the world.

Since 40 Days for Life started as a coordinated effort in 2007,
we are aware of 12,668 children whose mothers had a change of heart and said "yes" to life.

Pray that when those representing Planned Parenthood and other abortion groups
see volunteers for 40 Days for Life, they see ambassadors of Christ,
and may each volunteer be consciously aware at all times we represent Him.

Holy Week: A Liturgical Explanation for the Days of Holy Week

Friday, February 24, 2017

Sirach 6:5-17 ; 5 A pleasant voice multiplies friends, and a gracious tongue multiplies courtesies. 6 Let those that are at peace with you be many, but let your advisers be one in a thousand. 7 When you gain a friend, gain him through testing, and do not trust him hastily. 8 For there is a friend who is such at his own convenience, but will not stand by you in your day of trouble. 9 And there is a friend who changes into an enemy, and will disclose a quarrel to your disgrace. 10 And there is a friend who is a table companion, but will not stand by you in your day of trouble. 11 In prosperity he will make himself your equal, and be bold with your servants; 12 but if you are brought low he will turn against you, and will hide himself from your presence. 13 Keep yourself far from your enemies, and be on guard toward your friends. 14 A faithful friend is a sturdy shelter: he that has found one has found a treasure. 15 There is nothing so precious as a faithful friend, and no scales can measure his excellence. 16 A faithful friend is an elixir of life; and those who fear the Lord will find him. 17 Whoever fears the Lord directs his friendship aright, for as he is, so is his neighbor also.

Revelation 2:8-11 ;  8 "And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write: `The words of the first and the last, who died and came to life. 9 "`I know your tribulation and your poverty (but you are rich) and the slander of those who say that they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan. 10 Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and for ten days you will have tribulation. Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life. 11 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who conquers shall not be hurt by the second death.'

Psalms 119:12, 16, 18, 27, 34-35 ; 12 Blessed be thou, O LORD; teach me thy statutes! 16 I will delight in thy statutes; I will not forget thy word. 18 Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law. 27 Make me understand the way of thy precepts, and I will meditate on thy wondrous works. 34 Give me understanding, that I may keep thy law and observe it with my whole heart. 35 Lead me in the path of thy commandments, for I delight in it.

Mark 10:1-12 ; 1 And he left there and went to the region of Judea and beyond the Jordan, and crowds gathered to him again; and again, as his custom was, he taught them. 2 And Pharisees came up and in order to test him asked, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?" 3 He answered them, "What did Moses command you?" 4 They said, "Moses allowed a man to write a certificate of divorce, and to put her away." 5 But Jesus said to them, "For your hardness of heart he wrote you this commandment. 6 But from the beginning of creation, `God made them male and female.' 7 `For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, 8 and the two shall become one flesh.' So they are no longer two but one flesh. 9 What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder." 10 And in the house the disciples asked him again about this matter. 11 And he said to them, "Whoever divorces his wife and marries another, commits adultery against her; 12 and if she divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery."

John 15:18-21 ;  18 "If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. 19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. 20 Remember the word that I said to you, `A servant is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted me, they will persecute you; if they kept my word, they will keep yours also. 21 But all this they will do to you on my account, because they do not know him who sent me.

   Blessed are they who have kept the word with a generous heart and yield a harvest through perseverance.

Please pray for those who have no one to pray for them.

Now there is a great difference between believing in Christ, and in believing that Jesus is the Christ.
For that he was the Christ even the devils believed;
but he believes in Christ who both loves Christ, and hopes in Christ.  -- St. Augustine

The Virgin Mary of Nazareth
The First Moment of Christian Tradition Began in Mary's Heart (III)
Today her intercession has proved to be amazingly powerful...

When faith is strong it works wonders ( Mk 16:17 ).

Mary's heart is not a document, it's a source. "She stored up all these things in her heart"
(Lk 2:19 & 51), and that was the Word of God.

                        "We begin our day by seeing Christ in the consecrated bread,
and throughout the day we continue to see Him in the torn bodies of our poor.
We pray, that is, through our work, performing it with Jesus, for Jesus and upon Jesus.

The poor are our prayer. They carry God in them. Prayer means praying everything, praying the work.
We meet the Lord who hungers and thirsts, in the poor.....and the poor could be you or I or any person kind enough
to show us his or her love and to come to our place.

Because we cannot see Christ, we cannot express our love to Him in person.
But our neighbor we can see, and we can do for him or her
what we would love to do for Jesus if He were visible.

0 Lord God. omnipotent, I beseech Thee by the Precious Blood of Thy divine Son Jesus that was shed in His bitter crowning with thorns, deliver the souls in purgatory, and among them all, particularly that soul which is in the greatest need of our prayers, in order that it may not long be delayed in praising Thee in Thy glory and blessing Thee for ever.  Amen.

Our Father, who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name, Thy Kingdom come Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven;
give us this day our daily Bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from all evil; Amen

Hail Mary, full of Grace, the Lord is with thee, Blessed art Thou amoung women, and Blessed is the fruit of Thy womb JESUS,  Holy Mary, Mother of God pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death; Amen

FRIDAY
0 Lord God omnipotent, I beseech Thee by the Precious Blood which Jesus Thy divine Son did shed from his whole Body this day upon the tree of the Cross, especially from His sacred Hands and Feet, deliver the souls in purgatory, and particularly that soul for whom I am most bound to pray, in order that I may not be the cause which hinders Thee from admitting it quickly to the possession of Thy glory where it may praise Thee and bless Thee for evermore.  Amen.
Sign of the Cross -- Glory be to The Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit;
as it was in the beginning, is now, and forever shall be Amen.

Our Father, who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name, Thy Kingdom come Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven;
 give us this day our daily Bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from all evil; Amen
Hail Mary, full of Grace, the Lord is with thee, Blessed art Thou amoung women, and Blessed is the fruit of Thy womb JESUS,
Holy Mary, Mother of God pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death; Amen

Eternal rest, grant unto them of Lord, and let Thy Perpetual Light shine upon them;  Amen.
Indulgence of 500 days for each of these prayers.

I belive in God the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth, and in His only Son our Lord Jesus Christ, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontious Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried.  He descended amoung the dead; After three days He rose from the dead, He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty from whence He will come again in glory to judge the living and dead, and His Kingdom will have no end.  I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and Son, through the Father and Son He is worshiped and glorified, and He has spoken through the prophets. I believe in the Holy Spirit,  in one Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church, the communion of saints, one baptism for remission of sins, resurection of the dead, and life everlasting Amen.
